The guy I sold my 763 to, called and said it was overheating. He was only doing light duty work moving a bit of dirt around the edge of an alfalfa field.
He got it back to his shop but couldn't sort it.
I went over the next day and had a look. I lifted the cage after I started the machine and observed the fan drive. The pulley wasn't spinning and initially I thought it was a bad belt or tensioner. I could see some foreign matter deep inside and presumed it was bit's of belt . The new owner had smaller diameter arms and was able to reach up into the area past the air cleaner. He drug out the remains of a pack rat and some nest material. We fired it up again and everything was working fine. I fill the compartments on my gear with peppermint spray which rodents don't seem to care for. I plant it in my gardens to keep gophers, rats and rabbits away. It's fairly successful depending on the critter. I've had rats chew wiring in machinery and otherwise cause trouble. We have a lot of trouble with them nesting in cars if they sit a few days.
Just a heads up.
