Below are a few pictures that show what appears to be hydraulic fluid leaking from the top f th pump where the steering linkage connects. The oil seems mostly arund the L shaped plate at the top on the right side if you were sitting in the machine. Any ideas what would be leaking and how to repair it?

pintal shaft seals. easy to replace, you will probably find some worn steering parts when you disassemble to get to the seals. replace both shaft seals while you are there.

Do you know of any how to;s with video or pics showing the process?

Also I keep reading warnings that if you work on your Bobcat you should raise the boon and lock it out. Right now the machine doesnt run so I cant lift the boon so what do you do if you cant lift it? Also do you know why they require this since it seems safer to leave the boon on the ground for this type of repair?

SAFTEY SAFTEY SAFETY. MAKE no mistake this **** will kill you in the blink of an eye. why why would you fix a leak on a uniy that does not run? close the door lower the cab step back 5 feet and call the rolll back;;;bring to dealr ask for quote tech might spend 2 or 3 hrs at shop labor raste you will recive a solid quote on repairs needed some you might want to do (torn seat lights etc.OME HAVE TO BE DONE. you are going to spend some money but will know where you stand, while its there have a trade in eval done never hurts to know what value is.

It does run. I knew it ran before I started. I replaced 4 hydraulic lines today. Complete to do list would be:

4 rubber hydraulic lines --DONE
1 relay- DONE
Rear light lens covers
Pintle shaft seals
Ignition switch panel replacement (cracked)
New seat
Pressure wash machine
Tires

Nothing out of the ordinary for a used machine. Most of the to do list is straight forward with the excpetion of the pintle shaft seals that I'm a little unsure of.
A little off topic but my safety question was related to he replacement of the pintle shaft seal or doing work under the cab in general. Why would you lift the boom even if you lock it out instead of leaving it on the ground? It seems that is would be safer to leave it on the ground where it cant go anywhere or drop? Which is safer and why?
