i have a question about the middle sprocket in the chain case that sits on the drive motor shaft. is that whole sprocket assembly supposed to have a little play back an forth on the shaft? seems weird to me i feel like there should be no play to keep your chains straight.
75xt case skid steer with 4bt cummins motor.

As I recall there is a small amount of axial play on those motor sprocket splines.
