It was my understanding that the glow plugs only came on when I held down the pre-heat button. I ask these questions first because for some reason, I decided to try the pre-heat button and see if it would crank in 1 second instead of 2. Stupid of me. According to the diagram/table, I should preheat for 10 seconds at 50-70*(or something like that). I turned the key to run and held the preheat button for 10 seconds. Then I tried to start. All I heard was the click of the starter solenoid. I visually verified that it was the starter solenoid kicking the gear out. The problem is that it doesn't engage or crank over at all. I checked battery voltage and it was 12.6, but I checked it when I took it out of storage last month and it was 12.6 as well so I don't think battery voltage is an issue. I've got it on a charger right now just in case. One thing to note is that the two red lights come on slowly when I turn the key to the run position. It's dim at first then brightens up, meanwhile the battery voltage gauge slowly increases until the red lights brighten up. All this leads me to believe that the glow plugs are stuck 'on' and draining power from the battery, even while cranking. How can I test this or disable the glow plugs? If any extra info is needed to help understand my problem, feel free to ask. Not sure of the engine make, it doesn't say kubota or otherwise anywhere that I can see.
