Hello, So I just resealed a worn drive motor and I have a couple of questions. is it normal not to be able to turn the shaft by hand?and from the posts ive read there is some kind of timing involved, not sure what to time? thanks in advance for all help

Timing depends on the motor. The newer style i don't think need timing as there is only one way they can go together. It's been a few years since i did one, so i may be wrong.
As for turning the shaft. You should not be able to turn it by hand if it's not worn. I had to turn mine by using a pair of multi-grips on the shaft. If you can turn it by hand, you need a LOT of strength.
