I have a 753 Bobcat with a hydraulic leak. The leak appears to be coming out of the box under the cab where all the hydraulic lines are attached. A local mechanic says he can fix it by taking the box out (loader control valve) and rebuild it. He claims its about a 4-5 hour job. Our supply store says to leave the box in there and replace the spool seals which are most likely the source of the leak. He said that monkeying with the hydraulic lines connected may pose more problems than its worth. I dont know who to believe. Any recommendations?

Some members here have done it without removing but the Bobcat recommended procedure is to remove the control valve to repair it. Mainly this to insure keeping everything clean.

I had the same problem with my 863. I called the Bobcat parts department to ask about the parts to rebuild and mentioned that I was going to pull the unit out. He asked me why I would go through all that. His mechanics rebuilt it in the machine for $350 labor plus parts (mostly o-rings). They had it in and out same day. No more leaks and the machine works great.
