751 starting problems

I have 751 bobcat with kubota diesel. Probably a mid to late 90's. Maybe newer. I think it was as anniversary model. Usually when you turn the key on you can hear a click which is a solenoid of sorts being engaged. It doesn't do that anymore and it just cranks without starting. If you turn on the key and push the arm of the solenoid partially over it clicks open then will start. I bought a new solenoid and it acts the same as the old one. It won't engage without a little push. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
I assume you are referring to the fuel solenoid. It should have two stages. One is a very strong pull that only engages on start and the other is a continuous hold. It sounds like the relay for the pull on start circuit is faulty. Could also be wiring or low voltage due to a bad ground etc. I don't have the schematic so thats all I can offer.

Sounds like the solenoid timer or the 25 amp fuse. When you first turn the key the timer gets power from the 25 amp fuse to pull the solenoid after it times down it gets power from the switched power circuit to hold the solenoid.
Also a 751 should have a Peugeot engine, a 753 would have a Kubota.

Is the timer simple enough to find and or the fuse? I have some pics of my machine. I thought it was a 751 kubota. I don't see how to add a picture but the serial says 751 model. *515712745*. F series. The engine is lite gray and sticker says kubota diesel v1903-e made in Japan. Thanks for the help

The serial number falls in the range of the 751's. The Peugeot engine likely has been replaced. The replacement engine Bobcat sells for the 751 is a Kubota.
The fuses should be inside the rear door under some black covers. The relays would have been behind the air cleaner on the original engine.

I can see the relays behind the air cleaner and the fuse block is under the radiator overflow bottle.
 
I did a little more research and found that only the early 751's had the Peugeot and then they switched to Kubota.
The relay was fine. All eight fuses in the 2 fuse boxes were fine. I traced the wire back from the fuel solenoid and found a few connectors that were ok but then I found an in-line fuse that sets back in there and hangs almost on the frame. I pulled off the black cover and it was full of corrosion. The fuse wasn't blown. After cleaning everything up I turned on the key and snap, the solenoid worked. Sometimes when cleaning snow away from barns and windbreaks for the cattle the engine compartment gets full of snow from all the drifts. Apparently in melted and leaked into the fuse box. Thanks for all the help and information. I have been dealing with this for a couple years. 15 minutes later it was fixed. Thanks a bunch.
