Thanks you. I'll take a closer look.Worn linkages?
If the linkages are worn, its possible the lever on the left is bottoming out on the plate that they pass through, I'd check here first. A little play in the bushings or the bearings on the side of the frame that hold the steering levers wear and it can make the travel not quite right.
Well Tazza I took a closer look and to my surprise and relief I found that the right lever reverse lobe had fallen out. The bolt came lose and both were sitting right below where they came from. What a stroke of luck. Now when I pull back on the right side I have spring tension that keeps her from grabbing hard into reverse. While I was fixing that I noticed a micro switch was broken on the right side lever assembly, what the heck is it for? The one on the right side lever is good. I have a service and maintenance manual but I see no mention of those two micro switches that engage when you go forwards and back? What are they for, anyone, please.Worn linkages?
