hello all. been a while since ive been on here. mostly away at work. anyways, my 92ish 743B has an oil leak. it looks to be coming from the front of engine between the engine and pump. cant see but theres a lot laying around. is there a front engine seal possibly leaking? its not original engine. it a size up from original. 1702 maybe. cant remember. anyways looking like will have to pull and check it out. how big of a job is it to pull? just pull mount bolts and slide back?

Not that hard to pull a few wires fuel lines and hoses four bolts and slide it out but a good chance it is the two bottom steal hydro lines take a good look before pulling if you are loosing engine or hydro oil I just put back my 743 so for the same thing so I could be a bit of help

Not hard to do.
4 engine mounts, wires coolant hoses and it's out. Replace the rear main seal, grease the U joints when out, much easier then put the engine back in.

hello Tazza. do u have to split case or anything for that main seal, or is it just a seal like in a timing cover? it turned brutal cold here so ill be waiting a while before I pull it. changed the oil and filters and gonna run it for now as we keep getting snow.

The seal is in a carrier. you remove the flywheel and a bunch of small bolts, remove the carrier, install a new seal then re-install the carrier with a new gasket or silicone.
It is really quite an easy one to do, the front seal isn't even too bad on these engines.
