743B hydraulic pressure release

trying to connect hydraulic lines for snow plow. I pull back the quick connect couplers but there seems to be pressure in the line. I do not have a manual and cannot figure out how to release the pressure.

If it is stored outside maybe the couplers are frozen , had my flat faced ones freeze twice this winter, just pour little warm water over it. If it is the machine couplers holding pressure shut the engine off and wiggle the right hand stick from side to side , should relieve that. On the plow if it is line pressure you will have to loosen at least one coupler to relieve it.

Also check your operator manual. Some have a pressure release that is triggered through the start/stop switch. The procedure was, when you turn the key to off there is a spring loaded position to the left (counter-clockwise) that you hold for five seconds when you shut down and this relieves the pressure. Worth a try. Some of the ignition switches have this position placarded.

I've had my 743B for about 10 yrs. If I turn the switch key to the left/counter clockwise, it energizes the fuel pre-heater. I've never had it release the pressure on the hydraulic lines. I generally have to shut the machine off, work the petals and levers in every direction to release the pressure.
