A friend of mine has a 743B with a bad V1702, he recently found a V2003-T engine. Since the V2003-T engine has a bit more power than the V1702 I was thinking about taking the turbo off the V2003-T engine so not to over power the hydraulic system, and putting it the 743B. Has anyone tried to put a V2003 engine in a 743B, If so did it fit, and if it fit what if any modifications needed to be done.

The only concern i'd have is it will be setup to run with a turbo, without, it may try and pump more fuel into the cylinders, making it smoke.
There are 2 schools of thought on the extra HP, one is that it can cause the machine not to bog down as much when under load, so it will heat the oil up faster. There are relief valves in the hydraulic circuits, so you shouldn't be able to put too much power into it and cause any parts to snap, but again, possible heat build up.
If the engine was the right price, it may still be viable to drop it in as is. The sumps may need swapping, as the 743s did use a cast iron sump to mount to the frame.

I swapped a v2203 into my 743. I had to replace the radiator, water pump and put in a 160* thermostat. When I run the machine hard the temps will get around 190* on a 95 degree Tennessee day with no other overheating issues or power loss. Make sure your radiator is clean and cooling system in in working order, you shouldn't have an issue with heat if all is clean. the power is much better and I don't think you need to worry about breaking anything if the machine has been well kept. Like Tazza said you will need to swap the oil pan, front and rear mounting plates depending on how the motor mounts are and the size of the oil pan. All of mine bolted over with little modification the the rear mount.
