Hello, Would like to convert a pto brush cutter to my 743b.... 48"-60" size cutter . Does the 743b provide enough oil/HP to do this? Just wondering if anyone out there has run one on a 743.... and if its doable? Thanks quinq

I'm not sure you will have the HP there to run it. I sized one for a guy i sold a machine to, it would get to speed but just didn't have the power to cut much. It could have just been the motor that was used though, others may have more torque.

Hydraulic motors can get really wimpy if they're abused too much by letting them stall out repeatedly. Don't ask me how I know this. You might check to see how well it handles a load running in the other direction. --- Now to the question, I know a guy with a 743 who bought a 48" mower so there would be more torque. Works OK for him. :-) ---Bobbie G

Bobbie g, the 48" mower that you are talking about .... is it a factory set up or a pto retrofit? My question is ...is 11-12 gpm enough to run a mower? Has anyone installed a larger pump for the remote hydraulic circuit , can it be done? To measure the oil flow you loop a flow meter on the quick couplers and operate valve ..correct?
