i bought the machine few months back off my diesel mechanic he had done the engine over and the guy never paid him for the work so it had sat in the back of his shop for 5 years. i had this bobcat guy fix it on side he got everything going and ready to work. iv been running it past few days only thing i noticed was it was blowing out a little to much smoke. i found the smoke was coming out of blow by valve along with a few drops of oil. wondering whats the cause of this? i had a front end loader that did the same thing but we would just keep pouring oil in it but id like to fix he bobcat

I would talk to your mech and see what he did....sound like a worn out engine.......or maybe the rings need time to seat

Cracked head?
That is a sign of worn rings allowing exhaust gas into the engine, so it has to go somewhere.
If it still runs well, keep adding oil as needed. For it to have a lot of blow-by, the engine was not re-built. Or if it was, it was not done correctly.
