I have a 743 that appears to be leaking engine oil from the rear crankshaft seal. Does anyone here have any experience replacing one of these?

Very simple. The hardest part is removing the engine.
With the engine out, on the back is an alloy rear main seal carrier. Remove the bolts and pull it off. Replace the seal and install a new gasket (at least use quality silicone to seal it up). Re-install the engine and you are good to go. They are very simple to do.

Remove engine
Remove u-joint and flywheel
Seal is in a cover that bolts on rear of engine
Crankshaft has a sleeve pressed on the wear area and needs to be replaced if grooved.
If the engine hasn't been removed for a long time the u-joint may not want slide off the pump splines when you try to remove the engine. It is possible to unbolt the u-joint from the flywheel with the engine in place but expect busted knuckles and cursing. After engine is out you can work on getting the u-joint off the splines. Use some anti-sieze compound on the splines when you re-assembly in case you're the next person that has to pull the engine. Good time to replaced the u-joints if you don't know their age or if they've been greased regular. A u-joint failure is very expensive as it will damage other parts.
