hi just wanted to say that this site is awsome. I have a 1986 Bobcat 743 with a bad radiator. I was told that I have to remove the engine. is this true or is there a shortcut? if i do have to remove the engine how hard and how much time am i looking at. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance for any help.

Engine removal is pretty simple and fast, but this is not required to get the radiator out.
Its not an easy task at all, you need to remove the exhaust hose and radiator hoses. You then need to remove the bolts that hold the metal carrier the radiator is in from the back of the engine bay. They also hold the blower housing in place. You need to un-bolt the oil cooler from the underside of the radiator, it can stay attached to the oil lines, just not the carrier. You really need a helper to lift it out, its rather heavy! The bolts on the back into the engine bay are the hardest to get to, they are right back and up, hard to access but can be done.
I'm pretty sure you can't JUST take the radiator out, the bolts on it won't let it slide up high enough. The radiator and carrier frame must come out as one.
Good luck!
