Hello to all, again. I am tearing down and doing any maintenanceon 743 i can do before wood splitting and snow plowing. I am trying to figure out how to get the parking brake assembly out. My pucks are wore out and W shaped holder is rubbing on the discs. I have the first cover off so I can inspect and change oil. I removed the parking brake pedal, rod and lever. I have removed the bolts that hold the brake holder cover, but the plate will not lift out do to clearances to both the pump bracket and the steering linkage. Wanting to know If i take out the bolts that hold the parking brake will i be able to get it out that way? looks like it might not clear the discs. Other wise do i have to remove all the other parts to get out. Manual doesn't give a break down on how to do it, just says take it out. Thanks Also does any one know if this machine has a float feature? When my dad owned the bobcat dealer said it was broke. Not sure what to look for. Thanks, Nate

The plate should just pull up and out. I can't remember if the pump is in the way or not, but you should be able to remove the front mount if it is.
I actually had a 743 that had worn pucks, the previous owner installed a coil between two to take up the wear, saved buying new pucks.

All steering linkage is in the way and front pump bracket, Looks like i have to just keep pulling stuff out of the way. Bobcat dealer couldn't remember but thought i had to pull the hole steering column it is the center puck so can't push it out any more. 4600 hrs, it is wore out. Thanks

Ahh yes, the bracket that the steering levers go through is in the way. You can remove the entire assembly to give good access. Disconnect the aux linkage to the right steering lever, remove the bearings for the levers and the plate, it should all slide up and out.
If you go this far, do your self a favor, change the chain case oil, you are meant to mop the oil out of the bottom as there will be black goo down there from bearing/chain/sprocket wear.
