Hello I have not been around for a while but still have my 743. The lift arm cylinders needed the seals done, was able to get one done, the glad nut came undone no problems. The other side only moves about 5mm than locks solid. Either the alloy thread has broken inside and bound it all up of something like that. I have tried everything known, heat etc to get it out. I am sure I can get the gland nut out but will destroy it in the process. Can you buy replacement nuts? I am in Australia. Thanks

The timestamp indicates that it was for your initial post, I disable all those annoying notices wherever I can.
The parts book indicates that it is pn 6539323 and it does show up in searches so it is available, albeit not cheap. I would be concerned that brute force might damage the threads in the tube as well. The parts book has something called a back up ring pn 73K224 that could prevent it from loosening, not sure of its purpose.
When you did the other side, was there a ring between the gland head and the o-ring that sealed the end of the cylinder? The book doesn't show anything that should keep it from unthreading, the only thing I can think is that ring might have bent and is acting like a lock washer. I would probably take the other side apart again and have a look just to be on the safe side.

Thanks Dan You are right found that part number to. They do sell them in Aust but about $300AUD delivered. See how I go. Might buy one from the USA if I stuff my one. No lock ring they should just undo. The gland is Alloy so should not damage the steel thread in the ram tube. FYI, the Bobcat parts book calls it (head) not a gland nut. Strange. Newy

I used brute force to get mine off, heat and a pipe wrench did the trick. If you can get it backed off a few turns, you can try and get pepetrating oil in there, you will have an O ring at the end of the gland where it touches the tube.
Yeah, they ream us on parts over here, i actually machined my own when i needed to make new ones, not super hard if you have a lathe. I got seals from my local seal shop with specs to know how mig of a groove to cut for them.

Yeah thanks Tazza. I took a punt and left it. Only did one side. Just ran the machine and looks like its not leaking at the moment I hope it stays that way.

lets hope it stays taht way.
I *may* even have a spare gland nut for a lift cylinder, it may be a bit worn, but should still work. If it starts to leak, give me a yell, see if i can help out. Im in Brisbane

Thanks very much Tazza, see how it goes. I may take you up on that if I need to stuff mine to get it out.
