now that the alternator is working correctly, time to tackle the next item. The two red lights on the bottom of the instrument panel. The right one comes on when the ignition is turned on, the left one does not. I have no clue where to look to see what the problem is. I have changed the bulbs, and that has not made a difference. I checked for voltage tonight while I had my meter out there, and I did not get any voltage coming through the line. Is this line for a sending unit of some type? Any help appreciated.

Ok, one light is for engine oil pressure the other is hydraulic charge pressure/oil temp. BOTH should be on when you turn the key, they should both go out when you start the machine.
The senders do go bad, hydraulic pressure/temp is under the cab the other in on the right hand side of the engine.
If you have any issues just yell.

Both lights should have + power coming to them when ever the key is on and the senders provide a ground to turn the light on in the absense of pressure from either engine oil or hydraulic charge pressure and remove the ground when pressure is at the sender.

so if I check continuity at the pressure switch, and it shows connection, I should trace wires and look for a short. The oil sender is working, so I will look underneath, and check that sender.

Ok, I looked under the cab. I found two sending units. The one on the top, has power to it, but it does not go through the unit. The one that appears to be the problem is the one on the top, near the vickers unit. It has two wires attached, using a meter, I read about 9V, I see no continuity going through the connection. The sender down on the side is one wire type, and shows continuity to ground. Where do I go from here. It appears that the unit on the top is bad.

I ordered both sending units I found. One appears to be presure sender, down on left side. The one on top appears to be temperature. Will let you know how it works out.
