What are you guys running? I'm not super into spending $150 / Pail on bobcat OEM oil. Somebody mentioned that I should be running hydrostatic compatible oil rather than straight hydraulic oil. We uses to run a special blend of deli 46wt at the last place I worked but I dont remember what it was called. Bobcat parts guy mentioned that Mobil makes a blend that works but he was being kind of cryptic. So what are guys running?

743 b calls for 10-30 engine oil for the hydros . I believe that universal tractor fluid could be used . It is for hydro and gear applications and in cold areas it should flow easier with anti-foaming additives.

I'm a little.weary of using engine oil as the formulation has changed so much since the late 80s. I was thinking about UTF but was unsure how close the viscosity would be.

not a lot of hours so far. But not seeing how hydraulic oil would be hard on a hydraulic system. i see it as equivalent to motor oil, with anti foam and anti corrosion?
the only thing I can see and is it a big deal ,I do not know. But 10-30 does have the ability to change viscosity as it heats up. With that in mind any small leaks might seem to get bigger with the thinner hydro oil. And just another thought I have heard that going to a synthetic oil if there is a leak will make it leak more because of it's molecules being yes rounder for better lubrication.
