I'm not sure what they used on earlier machines, mine is a 90 model. My old 78 model 731 did not have metal lines and changing hoses at the pump was possible.Which ever way you feel is easiest go that way. If the problem switches sides it will be that hydro pump section. Remember you can buy kits to repair pump sections.</blockquote>
