Figured it out. Best with two people but it can be done with one person. Bring engine in to where the coupling is as close as possible to the splined shaft on the pump. Go to the front of the machine and slide your hand on the right side of the pump until you can grasp the coupling on the engine. Align the coupling with the splines and give the coupling a hard tug to where the coupling is on the shaft. Then go to the back and push the engine a little to create pressure against the spline shaft. Take a pair of pliers and turn the crankshaft a little at a time while using your body to bump the engine forward. You will feel the engine move forward a good bit once alignment is achieved.
