I purchase a new set of mounts last week and was a little surprised at the cost, $44.00 Australian each. I have fitted the rear 2 but could not lift the engine high enough to remove/replace the front ones, they will have to wait until I have time to remove it.
The old mounts were in a bad way allowing the engine to move around slightly and make contact with the rear door.

hey Luthor, those mounts are bs, i have owned a 743 since 1991, if I was You I would take them back and use washers to get your heighth, have done this in the past, works good and a helluva alot cheaper, and you don't have to take the motor out, just take the bolts and either use a crow bar or a chain and lift it a little, those enegines in those machines just slide right out, there is nothing to it, we are talking a hour to pull if needed, although in your case no need to pull it, dan

I see washers working too, but i'd rather have the vibration dampening effect of the rubber....
I don't know why you couldn't lift the front high enough to replace them, there is heaps of space to get a bar under there to get it up and slip a new mount in.
As for the price, yes that wouldn't surprise me one bit, i remember then being rather expensive last time i needed some. I *think* i paid about $30 from my local dealer about 4 years ago, i freaked as i was going to replace them all, so that was 10!!!! 4 for the motor, 4 for the pump and 2 for the ROPS. In the end i only replaced the really bad ones, the other so so ones stayed put.

Yes I was working by myself and was a bit worried about the uni joint slipping off the shaft so I didn,t try too hard although it did feel like it was hitting on something as I lifted the front up.

True, the fan may be touching the back of the pump or pump mount. The u-joint won't slip off, thats for sure! One way may be to remove the bolts from one side, then remove the nuts from the other and lean it to one side? would that give you enough height maybe? If not, remove all 4 bolts and slide it to the rear and lift, the u-joint shouldn't fall off the shaft (fingers crossed). Or even if you move it forward 1/2” or so.

Luthor don't b afraid there is couple inches of play in there, just get a little bit of a attitude and get her done as they say, it is easy U can do it, dan

Thanks for the replies guys, I am going to have another go at it next week. I wish I had done a little research before buying the mounts from Bobcat as I have found a Lord mount with almost identical dimensions for just $18.70 each and readily available here in Melbourne.

Try using old tires, all you need is a hole cutter and band saw. Use an old skil saw blade to cut it in manageable sizes. Works great.

All four new mounts are now in. I used a small Enerpac cylinder and hand pump to raise the flywheel end of the engine on each side just enough to allow the mounts in and out.

I love hydraulics! makes things like this so simple.
Glad you got them all sorted out.
