Hello All I have picked up a 743 v1702 for 4500. YAY! All of a sudden the Left Stick started to lose power, still works but very weak in forward, ok in reverse. Not 100% It also has a chain noise, I pulled the case cover and it seems very droopy, is there a slack spec? The axle seals and bearings are shot so when doing those I think I will replace the chains. Tractor supply has #80 chain for a decent price. Some notes, the chain case fluid is very clean, but only 2'' deep, enough to cover the bottom of the chain. It is not touching the bottom, but sure sounds like it when driving. Clunk Clunk click click. Thanks Guys!

The oil should be high enough to touch the bottom of the threaded plug at the front, a lot more than 2”
If there is chain slap on the bottom of the chain case, you will need to replace the chains at some point.
The power issue could be the pump, the pump relief or the shuttle valve in the drive motor. If you swap motors from side to side, test the power again and if the issue has moved, the pump is fine, it is in the drive motor.
