743 coolant

How much coolant is in the 743 with the 1702 engine I am flushing now then plan to replace the water pump and thermostate for good measure have one gallon of old style green stuff and one purple water wetter and one bottle of pink water wetter laying around and live in Texas any thought's out there and will be useing distilled water thank you in advance

Here in Mn the general rule is to mix it 50/50 with water and that is good. I have never seen 50/50 freeze but it may get a little slushy around 50 below. More is not better with antifreeze , the thicker the mixture the poorer the cooling effect. I think you could safely mix 2 gallons water to one of anti down there in the banana belt.

If you use a pretty weak anti freeze mixture , you may want to add some sort of rust inhibitor also.
