first timer so hange on. Ihave a 743. I'am hearing a clunking noise in the left front drive. It almost sounds like a chain jumping a tooth. I have removed inspection cover an can not see a problem. the chain does have some play but not any more than the right side drive. I have jacked the hole thing up so I can move wheels back and forth the rear left does have more play than the front and both chains on right side. is there a way to get the pumps to free wheel. I have no manuals.

Only way to make them free wheel is to remove the drive motors. While you have it jacked up see if the axles have any in/out or up/down play. It could be a bad axle bearing.

all have a very small amount of end play maybe .015 to .020. up down all good no play.with it jacked up I can rock wheels back and forth and the chain will slap the case or the chain guide rail. thanks for your imput

Prior post with 0.005-0.015 end play, Tazza recommended machining washers(the diameter of the axle) to remove end play. Yours is a bit more than that. Washers cost $25 each from BC, machining would be cheaper.

That much play won't be causing the noise, but when machining them your self, you can take out any amount, not what bobcat have available on the shelf with their washers.
