I shut down my 743 bobcat the other evening after a good day of work. I went out the next morning to start her up and the starter turned but I heard a thump sound every time repeated this action. It sounds as thought the starter turns a short distance but then a thump. I first thought the timing chain jumped a link and locked up but found during my research the 743'does not have a timing chain or belt but used gears which in my mind would make jumping time very difficult. I also discovered this engine has a interference engine which can lock up if either piston or valves fail.
Does anyone have any other suggestions of what my problem could be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
