on a 743b bobcat in the manual it tells you how to check the oil level in he chain case. it doesn't look as though the oil level is high enough for oil to get into the drive wheel assembly so how are the bearings lubricated inside the tube.

Curious to know the answer to this question myself. Would think that the chain case oil would be "splashing" enough onto the inner wheel bearings to provide sufficient lube.

my case 1845 just takes 5/6 quarts. just enough to cover the chain on the bottom plus it also has grease zerts that are supposed to be grease every 50 hours. just didn't know if this bobcat was splash fed or oil level was hi enough to put the oil in there as the book calls for 9 gallon.

As long as you fill to the bottom of the plug threads at the front, it will sit pretty well the middle of the axle tubes i thought, that is more than enough to lubricate every moving part in there when the wheels turn.
I haven't measured the height, but it's what th ebook siad, never had an issue.
