I can usually solve my issues with a quick search of this site, but this one has me stumped! I bought a 743 a couple years ago in rough shape, but mostly in working order. the owner warned me that the owner before him had somehow locked out the auxiliary hydraulics and if I attempted to use it in the future I should remedy that or something dire would happen (according to my very sketchy memory). I didn't have any intention of using the auxiliary hydraulics, so I promptly forgot about it. Fast forward a couple years and I now have a backhoe attachment. I removed the bolt that locks the right stick, installed the linkage from the control to the valve, installed new couplers, hooked up my new toy....and nothing. moving the stick right--left only results in the engine bogging down, but no flow to the cylinder. I'm sure it's something simple I overlooked, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

well this is embarrassing...apparently there is another valve under the one I hooked the linkage to buried in a mixture of dirt and hydraulic oil. The valve I was hooked to was the REAR auxiliary (which I didn't think I had, and was capped off).

That would cause a slight issue, glad you worked it out.
