Hello, I have a Bobcat 742B with the Mitsubishi engine. It just recently started making a grinding noise from the govenor box. Question is where can I get one at a decent price? My local dealer wants over 300 dollars for a new one. Thank you, Mike

Can it simply be a bad bearing? a new set shouldn't run you too much.
Sadly, they aren't that common. You may be lucky enough to pick one up cheap. but don't hold you breath.

Well I pulled the oil level check plug and there was a little bit of metal shavings on it. The govenor also took quite a bit of fluid for the size of it. I am guessing there wasn't much in there before.

Sadly, the damage is probably done, you will need to look at bearings, hopefully thats all it will need.
