Hello, we recently purchased a 1989 742B with Mitsubishi engine that was gas converted to LP. when we purchased it was running, but needed to be jump started. since new to us, we sent it to our mechanic for a once over. replaced fluids, filters and one hydrolic line. He discovered that the alternator was not hooked up to charge the battery. so addressed this. I have to say, the electrical work on this machine was a bit hog pog so he had to deal with what he had in front of him. ran the machine for some work that following week and then it would not turn over. He came back and replaced the ignition coil, line to coil, condenser and spark plugs and points. ran again for a weekend but then again, will not start, has spark, gets fuel but will not turn over. When running, the machine runs well and engine sounds good as it has been completely rebuilt in the past and sounds quite good. no choking out ect. But, we are at a conundrum as to where to go now. It has been suggested that we rewire with a complete factory harness and bring things back to "square one" so to speak. so, harnesses on order as well as ignition key as it currently runs on toggle switch. We had considered converting back to a gas engine but, with the research we have done we are thinking this may not be a good plan for the life of the engine. So, need to know if we need to have any adaptors in regards to the factory harness in regards to the fact that it runs off of LP?
