I was using my Bobcat 742b the other day when it just stopped. It has 1/2 tank of gas in it. When I looked I noticed that there was no gas in the fuel filter. I was able to blow thru the filter and it did not appear to be plugged. I did notice that when I disconnected the fuel line from the tank to the filter that no gas came out. I blew some air from the compressor in the fuel line into the tank and there was no change. I connected the fuel lines without the fuel filter but this did not help. I then connected a can of gas directly to the fuel pump (mechanical pump) and it did not seem to suck up any gas. I then hooked up a line to the pump, filled the line up with gas, and held it up to gravity feed the gas into the fuel pump. It started right away and ran for about a minute, until the line ran out of gas then died again. Any suggestions??? Thanks

Could be a couple of things:
1. Rotted out fuel pick-up line in the tank
2. Bad fuel pump
With respect to the pump, lots of guys switch to an electric pump when their mechanical ones fail.
