742 gas starter switch

Put new starter and cables and battery on my 742 gas. Started up fine. Next day went to start it and when I turned the starter switch to the on position red lightest come on but when I turn it to the start position nothing. I can start it buy jumping on the starter but key switch does nothing. Not sure which wire on the switch goes to the starter. Any ideas

Could it be a fuse?
As it was working, you must have had the wire in the right spot.
