I have a 741 with a duetz diesel engine.Older machine probably mid 80's.The problem happened all of a sudden. The machine runs good through all the motions except i get nothing from the lift cylinders. The tilt cylinders work fine.Hydraulic oil level good.any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ok, you *may* have some junk stuck in your lift cylinder relief. The lift arms have a separate relief valve to prevent damage if a heavy load get drooped in the arms. If your tilt still has heaps of power i would start with the relief on the arms as its the only part i can think of that could cause no lift power on lift ONLY. If it was both lift and tilt i'd check the main relief.
Look at the back of the control block, find the lift section and there should be a long plug next to the cap on the back. If there isn't one, pull the load check out and ensure its not broken or has something stuck in it.
Hopefully thats where your problem is.
Also check your linkages, i have had a bolt come loose that prevented my arms from working due to the bolt becoming so loose that the play in the joint was so excessive that the linkage at the spool didn't even move!

Thanks Tazza! You nailed the problem and it was a simple fix.It was a linkage problem on the lift arm.
