I have a 732 i purchased, I was in the process of putting new points, condenser, cap, & wires on I checked the vacuum advance pot to see if it was working, it did not. I tried to locate just the pot, but no one had one, or could get one, so I tried to get a whole new distributor, from what we can tell, it seams to be the same as a 1972 pinto. Does anyone know if this is correct? Also i have to pull and push the steer handle a long way to get them to respond. Is there an adjustment for these, also is there an adjustment on the foot pedals? Thanks, Matt

If that is the ford engine, I had the same problem with a 632. Could not get a vacuum advance so I went to the salvage yard and found the exact same thing on a volkswagen jetta dist. So it was not manufactured just for ford.

I dont know what year the jetta was matt, I tried the auto parts stores also with no luck. I did not check with a ford tractor dealer though. Members here have said that engine is the same as from a english ford fiesta from the early 80's. It was just luck I found one in the salvage yard. Maybe try to track down the dist maker. Also search these forums for a person who has rebuilt the ford engine they may have better information than me. good luck
