731 Wont lock into float

Hi Guys, My 731 wont lock into the float position or even go into float. I have to press extremely hard on the pedal and it kind of goes into float mode, but not really. Mostly just push forward on the pedal and it keeps putting pressure down. I've checked and tightened up all my linkages. Is there something to look at in the valve?

Use your heel and punch the pedal quick and hard , see if it helps.

If that still fails, the detent assembily may be worn out. They aren't sealed very well and can rust over time.
