709 Backhoe problem

HI All, I have a 709 Backhoe and one of the control levers is stuck. Its the lever on the far left that controls the boom up/down. It was stuck all the way up at one point, and is now free into the neutral position. Now when I push forward on the lever , that's supposed to push the cylinder down into the control it feels like its hitting a wall. All other controls operate normally and there is not rust or corrosion around the controls. It does move one way freely. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!

take off the cover and lube everything up., probably just seized up
