Howdy folks!

I have a new to me 643 from 1988.

Having issues with the tilt valve.

Last owner said they had to 'stomp' the tilt pedal to get action. Now it is stiff.

It seems not to be a linkage issue, as I can watch the lever move back toward the valve. Did note that one of the pins on that spool had moved out toward the right side of the loader.

I got it slid back in, but the tilt is still stiff and inoperable.

I'm thinking I need to get at the valve… but how?

It does not seem as accessible as some of the u-tube videos of other models.

There are more issues, but I need to start somewhere.

I appreciate any tips / advice you can offer.

Thank you all!

A bit of an update -

I managed to access the back of the valve thru the engine bay.

The cap on the tilt spool refused to come off easily.

I was able to release the linkage on the spool and pull it out of the valve body. I'm thinking that the 'stickage ' of the cap is what's causing my issue.

The weep hole in the cap is blocked with corrosion. Finally got it off and it's so bad, several pin holes in addition to the weep.

Off to the dealer today to seek some parts!
