well, that was 10x harder than i EVER thought it would be. a mechanic friend of mine came up to do it, took 2 hours to take it out, 2 + to put it back in. what a pain in the ass. he pulled to old one to get the small leak repaired, turned out it needed a complete new core, so we got a new one. what a hassle. just figured i'd share my story lol.

Sadly that doesn't surprise me....
On a 743 that is pretty close to yours, you have to un-bolt the oil cooler, radiator lines, muffler line, nuts holding the muffler/radiator housing in. Then you remove the whole thing as one unit. Replace in the opposite way trying to line everything up.....
At least it's now done though, hopefully you never have to do it again

Any tips to make it easier for the next guy?

yep, dont waste your time trying to get it out without taking all the other stuff out, it just ain't gonna happen. you need to get to the bolts on the underside of the carrier and the oil cooler is lreally close to the underside of it at that point. just disconnect the muffler and unbolt the oil cooler and pull the whole thing out. what a pain, really lol

Yep, remove he entire carrier, don't try removing just the radiator.
