hey, i never really use my machine in the dark. i pulled it in the garage tonight and noticed that when i did a function (move, lift arms etc) the lights dim slightly. i had the idle down kinda low less than half, didnt want to wake the neighbors. the voltage went from 14 down to 12 when the lights dimmed. is this normal? it seemed to get better with higher idle.

It could be as simple as a loose alt. belt, or the alt. may not be doing all it is supposed to do

alternator is only a year old. bobcat put it in. i heard something rattling the other day and the alternator was moving all over the place the bolts they put in fell out, so i went and reattached it with lock washers. perhaps i didn't get it tight enough? i just used a small pry bar, should i have used something larger?

A pry bar should be more than enough tension.
