I have an '87 643 that is a good starter since I put in new glow plugs last year, but has been struggling with power loss for a while. It seemed like it was missing on one cylinder so I finally put in new injectors (fridayparts.com) and got it started. Since then, the exhaust is just pouring out black smoke, obviously indicating unburned fuel. Then after a minute it idles up on its own and I can't control the throttle at all and can't kill it with the shutoff knob. I had to close the valve on the fuel line to eventually kill it.
I'm going to check the oil level because I have a hunch it's too high. I also wonder if the aftermarket injectors could a problem. When it's running it's definitely smoother than before the new ones. Another weird quirk is that the bucket raises fine but lowering bogs down the engine so bad it almost kills it.
Any insight is appreciated!
