hey guys 643. last winter the alternator wouldnt stay tight. didnt really use it too mjuch this year but started yesterday and heard a noise. alternator is loose again and the slotted bracket, whatever you want to call it, is snapped off, i don't understand. can i buy a new bracket?

The parts catalog lists a bracket. You will have to cal land see if it's still available. I have seen them repeatedly run with a loose belt break a bracket. Beyond that, no idea why it would break. Is the bracket broke in a place that can be welded? Maybe weld it and install a new belt and see what happens?

I would inspect your alternator's pivot point for a missing spacer / washer. Most of the time, missing hardware causes vibration which can break items that would not typically break at all. Be sure that all of your bolts are tight, too.
