[QUOTE="brdgbldr, post: 78757, member: 7474"] I have a 742B with the Mitsubishi 4G32 engine and I put in an electronic ignition. It is a PERTONIX 1941 You will probably want to change out the coil with a Pertronix Flame Thrower 3 OHM 40511 coil also, it goes with the ignition and allows you to get rid of the ceramic resistor. You can find both on Amazon.com. A word of caution...Make sure that your starter is wired correctly. Mine was not, so when I removed the ceramic resistor the starter would fire on the first click of the key (accessory). Very frustrating trying to figure that one out. Also, the part that replaces the points needs to have the air gap adjusted to .030". I had to file the screw hole in the new part to be able to get the proper gap, not something you should have to do with a new part but as long as you have a small enough file or a Dremel tool it's an easy fix. The plugs are Autolite 64. Make sure you gap them properly as they will not be gapped properly out of the box. The cap was pretty reasonable from the Bobcat dealer, I don't have a cross reference for that. The Dodge colt has similar parts but they do change from model year to model year. Hope this helps.
