Have a 742B (Mitsubishi) and I'm a bit oblivious as to the purpose of the resistor? Of the coil?
I've had the bobcat for about a year have it running well but obviously have to replace the resistor (I think that's what it is) as it is nearly disintegrated and will eventually short out. If I could be educated on its purpose and if still an available part I'd appreciate it.
Also. There are 2 capacitors on the rotor cap? Is this correct? Again seems like a farmer fix at best. ?
Motor runs unreal well for an old girl so just want to be informed before this isn't the case.
Thanks in advance.

You can get rid of the resistor and the points if you swap to a Pertronix magnetic ignition.

The resistors are still available and I think I may still have a new and used one around the shop somewhere.
