turns pretty good without bucket on front soon as you put bucket on bearly moves lack power maybee pump???motor dies down and no power

As you mention the engine tries to die, i wonder if you have a fuel issue causing a lack of power from the engine. Does it smoke when it bogs down? is the primer bulb flat?

Is that the ford gas engine in it? Check the ignition timing if it is, that can make it act like that also and the distributor may have moved.

thanks again timing was off by 10 deg runs great still having trouble with steering probably should take hydrostatic out and fix wafer plates probably what it is.
Make sure both the vacuum advance and the mechanical one in the dist. are working right also both are known to cause problems.

Reason I would suspect the engine is because you say it just dies down, the governor should open and it should labor before dying.

If you have run it with ethanol fuel you could have the problem I had. Ate up a new fuel pump in 3-months. Pump diaphragm was so stiffened up the pump would not stroke. Also a stiff pump is hard on the fuel pump eccentric lobe on the camshaft. If it has much wear there is not enough stroke to adequately fuel the engine. Finally installed an electric pump. -Dick
