642 Drive Motor

I have an early 642..owned it for 17 years...hydra oil is leaking into chain case..i understand the only way it can get there is thro the drive motor seals...it leaks down even when not being used! how is that even possible? I have changed the drive chains 2 times thro the years.. The motors seem to be working fine so I hope its only seals...to remove the motors.. Do I just remove front and rear chains and the motor will unbolt? anything else to do? Any coaching will be appreciated! Thank you.

I never would have thought there would be enough pressure from gravity to force fluid out the motor into the chain case, even with a bad seal....
