Does anyone happen to know the OD of a bobtach bushing for a 642. My bobtach is the older square tube design. The book calls for PN# 6562067 but this part looks to be 0.010” too large. My old bushing measures 1.428” and the new bushing measures 1.438”. The hole OD is 1.428” as well. I don't see any signs that anything has been changed from stock parts but I can't explain the difference.

1.438 X 1.258 X 2.083 must be .010 press
It takes roughly 15 tons of force to insert a 1.500“ shaft 2“ into a 1.490” hole. I'm going to need a smaller bushing, a bigger hole or a bigger press.
Renopker - Could you measure the bore OD on your bobtach for me?

I could ,I did, But mine has no bushings in it any more and of corse its big. Part of the reason for building a new tach.

Yup thats the #s on the ones I picked up today.
I have two bushing options in the 641 parts manual I have. One is for the square tube bobtach which is 6562067 which measures 1.438 x 1.258 x 1.830. The other is for the more triangle shaped bobtach which is 6534387.
6589665 has the same ID and OD but is 2.083 in length.

I asked the dealer and only the 6589665 came up in the system.
