Have a 632 with the 1.6L Ford and Bosch distributor. Had some troubles this spring/last winter, was using it to move snow and it died in the middle of the drive. Had a pertronix electronic setup on it that had worked flawlessly for 8 years until that point, but the way it laid down had me thinking it was probably time to replace the module, so I did. That module lasted about 25-30 minutes and laid down again. Went through everything, removed the carb and had it rebuilt, went back to points and condenser and it ran great for a little while, then seemed to have burned the points (had point scatter inside the distributor). Put another pertronix on it yesterday, fired it up and could hear that the timing was too far advanced, so put a light on it, and sure enough- it’s sitting about 45 degrees advanced at idle. Vacuum advance seems free and has always worked before. Anyone have any ideas? Hate to take it in to the dealer and dump hundreds into it, but it snowed last night so I’m gonna need it soon. Thanks in advance!

Just move the distributor to give 10 Deg BTC at idle with the vacuum advance disconnected and plugged. Reconnect the vac and you're done. ## separate observation:QC on the modules is bothersome. Mine lasted about a minute. I'm using points today but would rather have the pertronics. The bracket does not give the correct air gap. Have not spoken to pertronics to see if they have a better fitting kit.##

That’s the other thing is the fitment- it literally doesn’t ????????. Had to file it down to the shape of the old one to even get it in there and enough adjustment to set the air gap. But reading your reply- I did one thing wrong this time around ????‍♂️. Forgot to unhook the vacuum advance line. When it warms up outside I will have to try that- it’s 10 degrees and windy right now, have tomorrow off so if it feels any better I will attempt it. Can’t believe I forgot to do that honestly other than I was in a hurry.
