632 control valve question

i am in the process of rebuilding my control valve when i removed the hydraulic fittings, from control valve block i found 2@ orifice plates. and no springs behind them. can someone give some direction as to if there should be springs or not, and what direction the orifice plates go into the control box tony b. easton, pa

I don't believe there are springs used for it. All it is for is to slow the movement of oil passing through the holes.
