Anyone know how to adjust the parking brake on the L555? I tried adjusting mine and I cant get it close to the sprockets. Made the mistake of turing off machine on a hill and almost went for a ride! Any help would be appreciated.

The only adjustment is at the front clevis. There really is no reason for the rod to not engage the sprockets. The linkage simply pivots the rod into the sprockets. There is a small spring on each side of the rod linkage to help pull it in I believe.
Once the machine is rolling the rod will not engage the sprockets, it will simply rachet over the teeth of the sprocket. Always engage the parking brake before shutting the engine off on a hill.

I have the same problem. I tried adjusting it following instructions for a JD 675B (same machine) but then it wouldn’t fully disengage. If I adjust it out enough to disengage, it barely engages when the brake is pressed. The assembly just doesn’t seem to travel enough.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw date on this thread.
