I have a 2003 553 Bobcat. It's always run very well. It's at just over 1000 hours. The problem has been lately the skidsteer seems to be difficult to turn left. Sometimes it doesn't want to...then sometimes it's fine. The only thing I've not done in a long time is grease the nipple on that side, though I have no idea if this would cause a problem. For some reason you have to take the cab off to get to the grease nipple on that side, where on the right side the nipple is exposed between the two tires. Again this may have no impact in this issue. I also just bought brand new tires too, as the tires were down to absolutely nothing last week. I'm new on this forum and I'm mechanically inclined but I have no idea how these machines work. I'll have to figure it out I guess. :D Anyways is there a reason why the machine would have a periodically harder time turning left?

my first thought would be the seal kit of the hyraulic motor needs changing , when you try to turn is it like a hesitation and when it goes does it jump in hard , there is an oring on the end plate that goes out and doesn't let it build up pressure like it should

I agree, it would probably be an issue with the drive motor. If you need a seal kit check out www.loaderpartssource.com. they are exact same seal kit that bobcat would sell you but for a lot cheaper. I don't see it listed on the website but if you call, I know they offer them.
